Introduction to Nanomedicine

Nanomedicine is defined as the medical use of nanotechnology. This involves materials with at least one dimension between 1 and 100 nanometers. (Remember that a sheet of paper is about 100,000 nanometers thick.)

Scientists invented many uses for this new technology with medical applications. They discovered that by making things extremely small, they can get drugs past all of the bodies natural defense systems!

Who besides me considers this idea to be “an accident waiting to happen”? Combine that with these three variables … a new industry, LOTS of profits to be made, and NO safety regulations. Do YOU think these are the ingredients for a major disaster?
